    The fieldhouse has 49,900 square feet of indoor hardwood area.

    The whole building is an air-conditioned space. Unlimited ample free parking. The venue is located across from the host hotel’s parking lot. No need for transportation Separate area for bags and warm-up 34 grounded strips with a separate final strip The entire venue will be dedicated to the fencing competition for the duration of all three days. A complete concession stand is available throughout the entire competition.

    The venue will be open every day at 6:30 AM.

    Tournament Schedule All times are based on the Close of Check-in. You should arrive at least 60-90 minutes before the start time to check in, inspect the equipment, and warm up. It is best to be age-verified with USA Fencing or provide proof of age (such as a birth certificate or passport) and present your membership card at check-in. Start times of events are subject to change to maintain load balancing. We will notify all fencers of any changes in start times. Could you check your email and the registration page for changes in start times? We are only responsible if you arrive on time for your event. We plan to start all events within 20 minutes of closing check-in times. ** We strongly encourage you to keep your entire day flexible until the final close-of-check-in times are posted.

    Equipment Requirements: Y10 events can only use size 0 or 2 blade length. All fencers MUST wear a plastron (underarm protector). All foil fencers wearing a chest protector must wear the FIE-required padded protector. These are necessary for females and optional for males. All fencers must wear knickers – no sweatpants will be permitted. Standard fencing uniforms cannot have any rips, tears, or holes. Socks must conform to the USA Fencing Association rules and cover the entire lower leg up to the knickers.

    Equipment Check-In and Requirements: A check of the equipment is required before competing, and it will be available one hour before the first event. We are also available for this check from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST on Thursday, November 6, 2025 We will be checking the glove, mask, body cords, blades, and saber cuffs.

    Join us for the annual Northwestern University ROC and RJCC. This year, we will be hosting our event off-site at Canlan Sports – Libertyville, located at 1950 US-45, Libertyville, IL 60048.

    Instead of medals, we award the top 8 places in all events with swords, battle axes, or daggers.

    • In addition, the top overall U, E, and D-rated fencers not in the top 8 receive a prize (Laurie Schiller Award).

    The Remenyik is a 2025 RJCC and ROC.

    All 27 strips are segmented grounded strips with SG/Favero competition-grade scoring machines.

    Equipment check will open at 6:45 am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

    Equipment Check

    Important – Read Carefully

    All fencing strips will be surrounded by stanchions (Fencing Zones). Spectators to sit outside the stanchions all times.

    No parents, coaches, or spectators are allowed inside the fencing zones. NO EXCEPTIONS. However, only one coach is allowed to assist a fencer during DE bouts. Coach will stand in a clearly designated area and will be instructed not to step out of this area until the bout ends. Violators will be escorted out of the venue immediately. For each morning, if you/your fencer is not competing in an 8AM event, PLEASE RESIST getting on the equipment check line until those 8AM events go out. Thank you in advance, we promise it will make the day run more smoothly.

    The tournament daily schedule is SUBJECT TO CHANGE based upon registrations, entries, capping and health (safety) protocols.
    There is a professional football game scheduled for Sunday the 28th. Please include potential traffic issues as part of your commute to the venue
    All event times are close of check-in. Expect events to begin within 10 minutes of registration check-in close. Fencers who show up more than 10 minutes late (after registration close) may not be allowed to compete in that event. Please check traffic conditions prior to departure for venue.

    Withdrawal/Refund Deadline:
    Any refund request must be received in writing by 11:59:59pm PST on Friday, August 29th, 2025, via email to wfencingevent@gmail.com. Registration and administrative fees will not be refunded, but event entry fees will be. Please include the fencer’s name, membership number, and all events which they are withdrawing from (i.e. Y12MF, not just Y12).
    Beginning August 30th, unfortunately, there will be no refunds for any reason. Refunds will be processed after the refund request is received by USA Fencing. Fencers who do not show up to an event or withdraw from an event are not entitled to a refund.

    Transportation Details The Woodling Gymnasium is in downtown Cleveland on the campus of Cleveland State University and is a 15-minute drive (12.9 miles) from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport using Route 71. (Drive time will vary depending on the time of day.)


    There is some street parking on the weekends, and special event parking adjacent to Woodling Gymnasium (PE Building) in the East Garage (EG on map) Parking Deck for $10. You cannot park there overnight. Entrance to the EG Parking Deck is easiest from Chester Street, but accessible from Euclid as well.


    We have made the following group housing arrangements for fencers, parents and coaches who are traveling in. THERE IS A HOME PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL GAME THIS WEEKEND, and hotel rates in downtown will be higher than usual. Both of these hotel options are for $179/night. The Comfort Inn is walkable to the fencing location (.6), and the Tru by Hilton is about 1.5 miles away, but does not have a fee for parking overnight.
