    Welcome to the 4th Annual Academy of Fencing Masters (AFM) Super Regional SYC, RJCC, Div1A ROC, Veteran ROC

    SYC age categories – Y8, Y10, Y12, Y14 RJCC age categories – Cadet, Junior ROC – Division 1A, Veterans

    SYC events for Y10/Y12/Y14 awards youth national points All other events award regional points, with Cadet/Junior awarding regional points only for Region 4 fencers

    The Venue

    Santa Clara Convention Center, located at 5001 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara, CA 95054

    77 strips provided by Absolute Fencing. Final bouts will be fenced at the Finals Strip

    Age Eligibility

    • Y8 = 2017-2019
    • Y10 = 2015-2018
    • Y12= 2013-2016 (or on Y10 NRPS)
    • Y14 = 2011-2014 (or on Y12 NRPS)
    • CADET = 2009-2012 (or on Y14 NRPS)
    • JUNIOR = 2006-2012 (or on CADET NRPS)
    • Division 1A = 2012 and older (or on JUNIOR NRPS)
    • Veteran = 1986 or older

    Tournament Schedule

    • All times are the Close of Check-in. Fencing pools will start within a few minutes from the close of check-in time. The start time of events is subject to change to maintain load balancing. We will notify all fencers if the start time changes. We reserve the right to modify event start times within 3 hours of the currently posted time. This is because, at the time of publication of this tournament, it is impossible to predict the number of entries for each event. Days will stay the same. The final event start times will be posted 2 weeks after the regular fee registration closes.

    Check-In

    • The venue opens at 7 AM every day. We recommend arriving at least 1 hour before the close of check-in.

    Proof of current USA Fencing membership.

    • To use the Auto Check-In feature, all fencers must have a USA Fencing membership card or a clearly legible copy.
    • Fencers must check in every event they compete in.

    Equipment Check

    • Equipment check will be open on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (times are subject to change based on venue setup readiness).
    • It is highly recommended that you come to check your equipment on Thursday if your first event is on Friday and one day earlier than your first event in general.

    Things to bring to check:

    • Epee Fencers – Mask, Glove, Body cords
    • Foil/Sabre Fencers – Mask, Glove, Body Cords, Mask Cords, Lame

    Parking and Venue Info

    Parking is free for the event attendees. We reserved 500 spots on a first-come-first-serve basis. Proceed to the Santa Clara Convention Center Parking Garage and head to the top floor.

    BAGS

    Bags are stored inside the venue in Hall A. Follow the signs for the bag storage. Bags (other than strip bags) are not allowed outside of the bag storage area.

    Event Fee Info 

    Registration and Event Fees

    • Regular fees until September 30, 2025 11:59 PM PDT – Registration $80, Administration $9, and Event fee is $80/event
    • Late fees (Triple) from October 1, 2025 until October 17, 2025 11:59 PM PDT – Registration $240, Administration $27, and Event fee is $240/event
    • Starting October 18, 2025, No Online registration is permitted
    • Walk-Ins are permitted with triple fees (paid by check only) if there is a spot available in the event and approved by the Bout Committee

    Refund Policy

    • Registration fees and Administration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE
    • Refund requests must be received by September 30, 2025 11:59 PM PDT
    • Refund of events fees can be requested by sending email to igor@academyoffencingmasters.com
    • Starting October 1, 2025 NO REFUND OR CREDIT, NO EXCEPTION for any reason (including medical)
    • Refunds are processed a few days after the refund request is received and will be processed by USA Fencing National Office.
    • NO REFUND OR CREDIT will be issued to No Show or Withdraw from events

    Event Caps and Waitlist Promotion

    • All events are capped based on historical performance.
    • Fencers will be promoted from the waitlist on the first-come first-served basis. In order to be promoted a valid method of payment should be provided at the time of the registration.
    • The waitlist promotion will happen after the late fee deadline. If you don’t want to be promoted please remove yourself from the waitlist. Staying on the waitlist means you agree to participate in the tournament should a promotion happen
    • Once promoted, refunds will not be given in case you decide to withdraw as this happens after the refund request deadline.
    • Fees will be charged based on the date of entering the waitlist, not the date of promotion.

    All entries must be received by the posted deadlines no later than September 17th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time in order to register under normal fees. Any registration after this time will be subject to the late fees.

    To withdraw, email withdrawals@usafencing.org. Please allow us up to 5-7 business days for us to respond. We will honor the withdrawal from the date the email was sent. 

    Registration and administration fees are nonrefundable, and registrants withdrawing from an event will only receive a refund of fifty (50) percent of the Event Registration fees. Those who withdraw after the withdrawal deadline are not eligible for a refund under any circumstance.  The withdrawal deadline is October 15th, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Refunds are processed 4-6 weeks after the tournament.

    Should a fencer fail to appear for any event without sending an email by 5 PM local time of the day before, the fencer will be subject to a fine of $250 per event that the individual fails to appear for AND suspension of membership privileges, including participation in all USA Fencing sanctioned tournaments, until the applicable fine(s) is/are paid.
