WFencing Cleveland Rocks RYC/RJCC

WFencing is very excited to present the 2nd annual Cleveland Rocks RYC/RJCC/Y8!


To be held on September 27th and 28th, 2025 at the Woodling Gymnasium @ Cleveland State University!


Over 35,000 sq. ft. venue with 21 grounded strips, a concession stand, security and sports medics on site.

Age Eligibility
* Y8: 2017-2019 * Y10: 2015-2018
* Y12: 2013-2016 (or on Y10 NRPS)
* Y14: 2011-2014 (or on Y12 NRPS)
* Cadet: 2009-2012 (or on Y14 NRPS)
* Junior: 2006-2012 (or on the Cadet NRPS)

Earning Points Fencers only earn points at RYCs/RJCCs within their home region (2). The best 3/RYC or 2/RJCC results count towards the point total. RYC/RJCC points are not used in any National Point Standings, for seeding or team selection purposes.

MAAPP USA Fencing Regional Events follow the SafeSport and Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies, as approved by the U.S. Center for SafeSport. Please carefully read through these policies before you attend the event.


Additionally, USA Fencing Regional events follow the codes of conduct set by USA Fencing. Please carefully read the codes of conduct for spectators, coaches and members as you will be expected to abide by these codes of conduct.

Equipment Check Early equipment check is available on Friday, September 26th from 4pm – 7pm. We highly recommend you take advantage of this to avoid lines before the start of your event. Competition days equipment check starts at 6:45am EST. For each morning, if you/your fencer is not competing in an 8AM event, PLEASE RESIST getting on the equipment check line until those 8AM events go out. Thank you in advance, we promise it will make the day run more smoothly.

We will have equipment on site for sale, exclusively provided by Absolute Fencing


Tournament Schedule
The tournament daily schedule is SUBJECT TO CHANGE based upon registrations, entries, capping and health (safety) protocols.
There is a professional football game scheduled for Sunday the 28th. Please include potential traffic issues as part of your commute to the venue
All event times are close of check-in. Expect events to begin within 10 minutes of registration check-in close. Fencers who show up more than 10 minutes late (after registration close) may not be allowed to compete in that event. Please check traffic conditions prior to departure for venue.

Withdrawal/Refund Deadline:
Any refund request must be received in writing by 11:59:59pm PST on Friday, August 29th, 2025, via email to wfencingevent@gmail.com. Registration and administrative fees will not be refunded, but event entry fees will be. Please include the fencer’s name, membership number, and all events which they are withdrawing from (i.e. Y12MF, not just Y12).
Beginning August 30th, unfortunately, there will be no refunds for any reason. Refunds will be processed after the refund request is received by USA Fencing. Fencers who do not show up to an event or withdraw from an event are not entitled to a refund.

Important Reminder:
We will NOT accept entries at the door unless discussed with tournament organizers IN ADVANCE. All registrations must be completed via USA Fencing platform.

Transportation Details The Woodling Gymnasium is in downtown Cleveland on the campus of Cleveland State University and is a 15-minute drive (12.9 miles) from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport using Route 71. (Drive time will vary depending on the time of day.)


There is some street parking on the weekends, and special event parking adjacent to Woodling Gymnasium (PE Building) in the East Garage (EG on map) Parking Deck for $10. You cannot park there overnight. Entrance to the EG Parking Deck is easiest from Chester Street, but accessible from Euclid as well.


We have made the following group housing arrangements for fencers, parents and coaches who are traveling in. THERE IS A HOME PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL GAME THIS WEEKEND, and hotel rates in downtown will be higher than usual. Both of these hotel options are for $179/night. The Comfort Inn is walkable to the fencing location (.6), and the Tru by Hilton is about 1.5 miles away, but does not have a fee for parking overnight.
